Local information
How to get from Paris to Roscoff
1. By Train : The
train is a convenient way to get to Roscoff. First one should
take a train from Paris to Morlaix and then there is a short connection
to Roscoff, either by bus or by local train. From Paris there are
two possiblities:
- from the airport Paris Charles de Gaulle there are about 3
trains a day (change at Rennes); the journey takes about 4 hours
- from the main railway station Paris Montparnasse, there is a
train approximately every 3 hours; the journey takes 3h 50 min.
For the train timetable consult the web site SNCF.
When you arrive at Morlaix, take the train or the bus from the railway
station to Roscoff. There are two trains and two buses on Sunday
29th June, leaving at 11h51(train), 15h15 (train), 18h06 (bus) and
20h10 (bus). For the times on other days consult the web site of
the SNCF. If you let us know when you arrive then we will arrange for someone to meet you to take you to the conference centre.
2. By Plane : The
nearest airport is Brest-Guipavas, about 15 minutes from Brest and 45
minutes from Roscoff. For information concerning flights, consult
the web site Airport Brest-Guipavas
. Flights connect Paris with Brest (either Paris Charles de
Gaulle or Paris Orly-Ouest). There are also direct flights from
Nice, London and some other cities.
Participants arriving by plane should tell the organisers their time of
arrival. If you are arriving on the Sunday 29th June, then it
would be helpful to take a flight that arrives not later than the 17h10
flight from Paris, in order that we can take you to Roscoff that
evening. Otherwise, there is a navette connecting the airport
with the town of Brest, in particular it goes to the railway station
where one can catch the train to Roscoff via Morlaix. The times
of the navette can be found on the airport web site Airport Brest-Guipavas.
For people arriving on Sunday 29th June before 17h10 (also Saturday
28th June), we will arrange to take you to where you will be staying at
Roscoff.
