  Geometric Analysis

Roscoff, France

18 – 22 Ocober,  2010

vue de Roscoff

A thematic workshop entitled "Geometric analysis" will be organised at Station Biologique de Roscoff (CNRS),  under the auspices of the l'Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR,  project  FOG  and  project  CAGE), the  Centre Nationale de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), the international Doctoral School  of the European University of Brittany  and the  Université de Bretagne Occidentale.

Geometric analysis lies on the interface between the analysis of partial differential equations and Riemannian geometry, with considerable influence from mathematical physics.  It is a domain which has come to the fore over the last thirty years and which has produced some spectacular results (resolution of the Calabi conjecture, the Poincaré conjecture, ......). The main aim of this thematic workshop is to promote geometric analysis among doctoral students, postdocs and young researchers, by means of mini-courses on fundamental topics in the subject.  Talks on themes connected to the mini-courses will also be given.
